Honda 0 Alpha Electric SUV Set for December 2 India Debut: Expected Range, Features and Price

Honda is ready to launch its future 0 Alpha electric SUV in India with the production-spec model hitting the market on December 2, 2026. At that time, Honda will launch their first electric vehicle in India and will be in the competitive midsize electric SUV category. Honda has no problem with electric mobility in India and this new model would be a good addition to Honda's Indian portfolio.

Honda 0 Alpha was first presented as a prototype at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2025. The company began testing on the electric SUV in March 2026 in India, hence the preparations for its launch in India. Although Honda has not revealed full specifications yet, the production version will likely keep some of the design features of the concept in mind.

Details about the battery, driving range, charging capabilities and equipment list are still under wraps. But the prototype provides a preview of what users can expect from the upcoming electric SUV. It will also be up against other established and future electric SUVs in India's growing market for EVs.

Honda 0 Alpha Electric SUV: Expected Design and Exterior

The production-spec Honda 0 Alpha will still have the same design philosophy seen in the prototype. Its exterior may have a sleek shape, an upright SUV stance and clean body surfaces and sleek curves; it’s likely to be modern but will still have conventional SUV looks.

One of the most striking aspects of the prototype is its integrated front lighting design. The headlamps, charging lid and Honda emblem all appear on one panel and are part of a unified front fascia in a clean and futuristic-looking design. It is more clear if Honda will keep the design as it is when it is officially unveiled as a production car.

In the rear, the concept has a well-defined U-shaped lighting arrangement that includes taillamps, reversing lights and turn indicators. This unique aspect could help the 0 Alpha become recognizable on Indian roads.

Other design features are LED lighting and aerodynamic alloy wheels which could improve the SUV's overall appearance while also being a fit for the design requirements of an electric vehicle. The final exterior dimensions, wheel design and colour options are not yet known.

Honda 0 Alpha EV: Expected Battery and Powertrain

Honda has not announced the final powertrain specifications of the 0 Alpha. However, expectations point to battery capacities in the 65kWh to 75kWh range. They are yet to be confirmed and we expect to get more details closer to the launch in India.

The battery configuration will be critical to the electric SUV's range, performance and competition in comparison to other vehicles in its category. But this segment is more and more about real-world range, charging convenience and ownership costs as drivers are looking for an electric vehicle.

Details such as the electric motor's power output, torque, battery chemistry, charging speed and drivetrain configuration are yet to be revealed. Honda has also not confirmed whether the model will be equipped with multiple battery variants or different powertrain configurations.

The company's ongoing testing programme could help prepare the vehicle for Indian driving conditions. However, the exact technical changes made for the local market, if any, have not been disclosed.

Honda 0 Alpha Interior and Expected Features

But the inside of the production-spec Honda 0 Alpha's cabin is the other area where there are no official details. Based on the expected equipment package, the electric SUV would have a big touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and a three-spoke steering wheel.

The interior is also expected to integrate a modern dashboard layout with physical controls for selected functions. This could make access to the commonly used features without drivers having to use the touchscreen to do it.

Other cabin details, such as seat upholstery, rear-seat cushions, rear-seat comfort, boot capacity, connected car technology and audio equipment have not yet been confirmed. Honda has also not announced the full safety package or which driver-assistance features could be included.

And the final equipment list will shape how the 0 Alpha compares to competitors in the midsize electric SUV category. More details will be revealed once the company announces the production model.

Honda 0 Alpha Electric SUV: Expected Price in India

The Honda 0 Alpha could be priced somewhere between ₹17 lakh to ₹25 lakh ex-showroom. This is a guess and not an official price range and the final price will depend on the various variants, battery choice and equipment.

Honda could drive buyers into buying an electric SUV for commuting and longer trips at a price that is reasonable. There are many options in the market already, in terms of price and features, performance and after-sales support for prospective customers.

Honda hasn't announced the booking date, delivery schedule or variant-wise pricing. Buyers will have to wait for the official launch-related announcements for confirmations of these details.

Honda 0 Alpha EV Rivals: Mahindra BE 6, Tata Sierra EV and More

Once launched, Honda 0 Alpha is expected to compete in a segment that includes Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella. Meanwhile, Tata Sierra EV is also going to be a good option in the electric SUV market and will be a much more realistic price.

Honda would need to come up with a compelling combination of design, range, charging capacity, technology, price, etc. to compete with the competition. The buyers will have to compare not only the vehicles’ headline specifications but also their practical usability, cabin space, and ownership experience.

Honda will also make the 0 Alpha a major step in Honda’s electric vehicle strategy in India. Given that the new product will be introduced to the market with its first electric SUV, the company will need to establish its identity to the market with its first electric SUV when customers are already in demand for vehicles that will have more options in the EV space.

Honda 0 Alpha India Debut: What to Expect Next

Honda’s December 2, 2026 debut will be the next major milestone for the 0 Alpha electric SUV. The reveal should give us a better idea of the production model’s looks and features or details for its specifications, features and market positioning.

For now, the design is likely to be heavily based on the prototype and the battery capacity, range, charging details and final pricing are still uncertain. A ₹17 lakh to ₹25 lakh price range and 65kWh to 75kWh battery options should be treated as expected rather than actual specifications.

With its first Indian electric SUV, Honda is preparing to enter a fast-evolving market where competition is growing and customer expectations are increasing. The production-spec 0 Alpha’s official reveal should help build how the company will differentiate itself in India’s midsize electric SUV segment.
