Renault will be expanding its hybrid range into India with the launch of this model. The hybrid Duster will compete with Maruti Suzuki and Toyota’s hybrid SUVs which are already quite popular in India.

Renault Duster Hybrid Price and Variants

Renault Duster Strong Hybrid is available in three variants with introductory prices as follows:

  • Evolution: ₹16.99 lakh

  • Techno: ₹18.99 lakh

  • Emotion: ₹19.49 lakh

All prices are ex-showroom. The introductory pricing is reported to apply to deliveries until December 31, 2026. Buyers can book the SUV with a token amount of ₹21,000 through Renault’s official website or authorised dealerships.

Deliveries are scheduled to take place on November 6, 2026.

Engine, Hybrid Technology and Performance

The new Duster Hybrid uses Renault’s E-Tech 160 hybrid system. It has a 1.8-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery pack.

The combined system produces about 160 PS, providing a balance between performance and efficiency. A multi-mode automatic transmission provides power delivery to the SUV, so electric power, petrol power or a combination of both are used depending on the driving conditions.

Unlike a plug-in hybrid, the Duster Hybrid does not need to be plugged into an external charging connection. The battery will recharge using the petrol engine and regenerative braking, which recovers energy while slowing down.

Renault Duster Hybrid Mileage

Fuel efficiency is one of the biggest highlights of the new SUV. Renault claims an ARAI-certified mileage of 29 kmpl, positioning it as a strong option for buyers wanting lower fuel consumption (see figure).

The manufacturer also claims that the vehicle can cover up to 80% of city driving in electric mode under suitable conditions. Actual mileage and electric-driving proportions will depend on traffic, driving style, road conditions and other factors.

The hybrid powertrain could appeal to customers who want a petrol vehicle but a little electric help on the road.

Features and Safety

The Duster Hybrid is still the bold style of the new Duster with its rugged body cladding, roof rails and a front grille with illuminated Duster lettering.

Depending on the variant, it will come with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver display, dual-zone automatic climate control and panoramic sunroof. The higher-end Emotion model adds a ventilated and electrically adjustable front seat, a larger digital instrument display and a powered tailgate.

The safety equipment includes six airbags, rear parking sensors, rearview camera and hill-start assist. The features vary from one variant to another.

Rivals and Market Position

The Renault Duster Hybrid will compete with hybrid SUVs such as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

Its 29 kmpl efficiency, 160 PS hybrid system and SUV-focused design could draw in buyers seeking a perfect combination of fuel economy, space and performance. Real-world mileage, ownership costs, different features and driving experience will be the key, but so will the final decision-making process.

With bookings in and deliveries expected in November, the new Duster Hybrid enters a market in which fuel efficiency and value will be the most important factors for buyers.
