Google is getting ready to expand its hardware and after recent official teasers of the standard Pixel lineup, now there is a leak of the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Thanks to well-established industry source Evan Blass, high-resolution promotional marketing renders have been leaked that show off Google's next-generation foldable device. Headed to the "Made by Google" event in New York on August 12, and to India on September 22, the new foldable is not a radical redesign but a subtle modification.
Looking at the leaked design details, Google is still taking its own way of looking at foldable form factors. While Samsung likes to go for records for thinness with each generation of the Galaxy Z Folds, Google is more focused on everyday durability and structural rigidity at the expense of a familiar heft. Nonetheless, Google does reduce the size of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold slightly. The new foldable is reported to be around 10.1mm thick when closed (a small bump on the 10.8mm one for its predecessor). The leaked renders also show a new color option tentatively named Pine, a more subtle green color with a light gold frame.
The most prominent visual talking point on the rear chassis is the new Pixel Glow. The glowing ambient LED light will be present throughout the Pixel 11 family, hidden behind the camera island. While Google has kept the exact function of Pixel Glow under wraps, industry analysts expect that it will be an intelligent notification indicator or a visual companion for Gemini AI operations. The entire camera bar looks very much like it has in previous generations with an impressive multi-sensor setup and is flush with the horizontal visor.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold will be powered by Google’s own Tensor G6 chip and should be the same as the rest of Google’s flagship devices. Power handling will be managed by a decent mid-sized battery of around 4,800mAh, ideally for efficiency and the slim shape. But these small hardware improvements come at a crucial time for consumers. Google has already said that the entire Pixel 11 lineup will see a price bump in the wake of a global memory crunch and high prices for hardware. As the August 12 show is fast approaching, we should soon know if these upgrades and AI-centric features justify the extra cost.
