South Indian stars Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda finally said "I do" on Thursday, February 26, 2026. In what has been hailed as the digital event of the year, the couple’s very first official wedding photos set social media records: collectively, after only three hours posts they generated 18.6 million likes, which is nothing short of shocking.
The marriage took place in Udaipur. The couple named the event "The Wedding of VIROSH," with a twist due to their fan-given name, in luxury.
A Digital Storm: 18 million Likes and Counting
Though the couple did manage to keep the actual ceremony out of the oblong circles of the paparazzi’s prying eyes with a strict “no-phone policy,” they didn’t leave their fans waiting very long. Both actors posted two separate, soul-stirring glimpses of their big day through Instagram three hours after the rituals ended. The reaction was rapid and unprecedented:
- Impact collectively: The two posts received more than 18.6 million Likes in under 180 minutes.

The Telugu Wedding: This ceremony opened at about 10:10 a.m. in the morning in honour of Vijay’s heritage and was traditional Andhra rituals. The Kodava Wedding: The couple celebrated Rashmika’s Coorgi roots in the evening. Inside there wasn't a dry eye in the room during the garland exchange because both actors were moved by the magnitude of the moment.

The celebration wasn’t limited to fans. These newlyweds were the subject of an enormous social media paean by both South Indian cinema and the starry-eyed Bollywood. Notable figures such as Ishaan Khatter, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Neha Dhupia, Raashii Khanna and Vineet Singh joined the initial wave in its comments. Anand Deverakonda, Vijay’s brother, expressed a heartfelt feeling in welcoming Rashmika into his family, saying she was “the most compassionate person.”
What’s Next? The Hyderabad Reception
The private Udaipur parties are but the start. The couple were going back to Hyderabad, where they will organize a grand wedding reception on March 4, 2026 at the Taj Krishna. It’s also slated to be a star-studded gala, the biggest names of the Indian film industry and the Indian political players, among a handful of attendees.
