Why is Dhurandhar’s ‘Fa9la’ Trending? Flipperachi Sets Guinness World Record

As if the viral "Jamal Kudu" were the anthem of 2024, "Fa9la" (pronounced Faasla) has taken the throne for 2026. For a historic reason, the Arabic hip-hop track, the electrifying entry theme for Akshaye Khanna’s character, Rehman Dakait, in the blockbuster film Dhurandhar, is also now trending worldwide because its creator, Bahraini rapper Flipperachi, has the official entry to enter the Guinness World Records.

The Guinness World Record Achievement

It was confirmed on January 31, 2026 that "Fa9la" topped the Arabia Billboard Charts with the highest number of physical and digital billboards ever recorded for a single track. Flipperachi has gotten into the world spotlight with its huge visibility along with its viral status in India.

Flipperachi said, reacting to the news from a photoshoot, of his excitement: "Guinness World Records, my friend! It feels amazing. The song became famous in a language in which it wasn’t even sung. It just exploded, and I’m thrilled to top four charts at once."

Why the Song is Trending in India

Although released originally in 2024, its inclusion in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar (released December 2025) triggered a cultural phenomenon in India: Akshaye Khanna Effect: The song plays during a climactic scene where Akshaye Khanna’s character secures a deal in Balochistan. This energy is "dangerous yet debonair" (Khaleeji, the perfect fit); Khaleeji beats and its "theatre moment" gave rise to other "theatre moments," and followers from all corners of the globe instantly started to spread their social media.

  • The "New Jamal Kudu": Just like Bobby Deol's part in Animal, "Fa9la" is now a kind of universal standard in Instagram Reels, memes and dance challenges throughout India.
  • Cross-Cultural Appeal: Although the song is in a Bahraini dialect, its raw energy and rhythmic similarity to the tabla have struck a chord in the minds of Indian audiences.

What Is 'Fa9la'?

Fa9la is a local Gulf slang phrase. In his several interviews, Flipperachi has described it as having no one literal translation but referring to "fun time," "party" or "being in the zone." It’s a state where you’re living in the now and "vibing" so hard, everything around you turns to a dance.

Who is Flipperachi?

Born Hussam Aseem in Manama, Bahrain, the 36-year-old rapper is a key figure in Khaleeji hip hop. Career: Active for more than 20 years, he started rapping when he was 12. Recognition: He won the Bahraini Artist of the Year award in 2024. Global Collaborations: He has collaborated with international names such as Shaquille O'Neal, Shaggy and The Game.

The Dhurandhar Connection

The composer Shashwat Sachdev came across the track, and found the pulse of the song was a perfect fit to the film world. Ironically, the film producers thought about making some version in Hindi at first, but opted to preserve the original Arabic vocals - an arrangement which has subsequently earned them a Guinness World Record.
