Yash, a Kannada mega-star, is readying himself for a big screen return with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film has already landed an amazing ₹40 crore advance deal through a commission-based agreement with PVRINOX Pictures. Scheduled for release on March 19, 2026, the movie has been marketed as one of the most eagerly anticipated films in the year.
Toxic has a dominating cast with Nayanthara and Kiara Advani joining Yash in pivotal roles. The movie has a blend of dark fantasy and high-octane drama, marking a bold shift from traditional storytelling. Given Yash's pan-India appeal and Mohandas' distinctive directorial outlook, fans and business world expectations are high. It marks the release date of a high-voltage box office clash with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which will come to cinemas on March 19.
When this coming March 19th coincides with Ugadi and Eid, the exhibition will attract huge numbers of viewers in theaters nationwide. In contrast, the competition has been described as "healthy," says trade analyst Rohit Jaiswal.
The initial reports suggest there’s strong pre-sales interest, and distributors and exhibitors are making big bets on both films. Toxic may play a role as Yash’s crucial follow-up to his blockbuster success in the KGF franchise, but Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar will be pitched as a high-energy revenge drama. That all leads to one of the most thrilling box office battles in recent memory — a festive time of moviegoing.
