A human rights organisation strongly condemned the alleged intensification of Pakistani military operations in the Zehri area of Khuzdar district of Balochistan, as the region is still under pressure due to unrest and security operations in the area. In Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ) sources said that a Pakistani military drone attack on a residential area in Balochistan killed one woman and seriously injured two others in the area.
The incident reportedly took place on Friday, September 4, 2026. BVJ said the woman was killed while she was collecting water. Two other people, including a woman, were reported injured in the drone strike.
But the names of the deceased and injured individuals and the health condition of those wounded could not be verified. The allegations have come with higher security restrictions and limited access to information in Zehri.
25 Residents Forcibly Disappeared
BVJ also alleged that Pakistani security forces had detained and forcibly disappeared about 25 local residents from the area.
The organisation claimed the detentions occurred while a long-term curfew was in place in Zehri. These restrictions have made residents, journalists and rights groups very hard-pressed to get reliable information about developments on the ground.
Media reports have also cited BVJ's statements to state that mobile phone services have been suspended in Zehri due to the curfew. The communication restrictions have complicated efforts to determine the number of people who may have been killed, injured or forcibly disappeared.

Communication Blackout Raises Concerns
BVJ said the restrictions imposed in Zehri have created significant barriers to gathering information from affected communities. And with mobile connectivity supposedly broken down, families of those suspected of being detained or missing may be unable to contact relatives or find out where they are.
Human rights groups have repeatedly raised concerns about alleged enforced disappearances and military operations in parts of Balochistan. Those concerns were reinforced by Zehri’s latest allegations of military action, curfew violations and communication disruption.
The targeting of civilians and forced disappearances require urgent attention, the organisation said. It also said in a report that information had been restricted to the extent that it could prevent independent organisations from documenting violations.
Human Rights Organisation Calls for Independent Investigation
Baloch Voice for Justice has condemned what it described as the killing of a civilian woman and the alleged enforced disappearance of 25 residents during Pakistani military operations in Zehri.
The international organisation called for an immediate and independent investigation into the reported incidents. “Human rights violations against civilians, enforced disappearances and restrictions on public access to information are serious human rights issues,” it said.
BVJ also appealed to the United Nations and international human rights organisations to investigate the reported violations in Zehri and take steps to establish the facts.
The allegations come at a time of heightened tensions in the region, and security operations and restrictions on civilian movement have been the focus of international attention.
Independent verification of the reported drone strike, the alleged deaths and injuries, and the disappearance of 25 residents is difficult because of the reported communication restrictions and limited access to the affected area.
