Residents in several parts of Bengaluru will experience a scheduled power disruption on December 23, 2025. According to the latest notification from the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM), the outage is part of essential maintenance work aimed at strengthening the city's electrical infrastructure.

The power cut will primarily affect residential, commercial, and industrial pockets in the southern and south-western parts of the city. The following areas will face disruptions:
- Major Residential Localities: Konanakunte, Talaghattapura, Doddakallasandra, Srinidhi Layout, Avalahalli, Mantri Apartments, Raghuvanahalli, Gubbalala, and Kuvempunagar.
- Layouts & Colonies: V.V. Nagar, V.V. Layout, Balaji Layout, Royal Farm, Arehalli, Ittamadu, AGS Layout, Chikkallasandra, T.G. Layout, and Bhuvaneshwarinagar.
- Key Hubs: ISRO Layout, ISRO Layout Industrial Area, Kumaraswamy Layout, Vittal Nagar, and Vikram Nagar.
- Other Nearby Regions: Yelachenahalli and surrounding areas, Chikkallasandra Village, Kadirenahalli, Abbaiah Naidu Studio, Naidu Layout, and all adjacent vicinities.
Reason for Outage
BESCOM officials stated that the scheduled shutdown is necessary to carry out routine maintenance and system upgrades to prevent unplanned blackouts in the future. These works ensure the safety and reliability of the grid as the city moves into months of higher electricity demand.
Advice for Residents
- Charge Devices: Ensure laptops, mobile phones, and power banks are fully charged before 10:00 AM.
- Water Storage: Residents are advised to fill their overhead tanks in advance as water pumps will not be operational during the outage.
