The victims were Somasundar (55), his wife, Muthulakshmi (48), and their younger daughter, Supriya (20). Police believe the couple’s elder daughter, Shwetha, and her boyfriend, Kenneth (20), were involved in the killings and fled from the scene after the crime.

According to initial information, Shwetha had a live-in relationship with Kenneth, which her parents opposed. Family members had been trying to counsel her and persuade her to return home, causing friction between the couple and her family.

The night of the incident, that argument is believed to have been between Shwetha's parents and Kenneth. The investigation suggests that the fight turned violent, and the three victims were attacked with a knife.

Muthulakshmi and Supriya died on the spot after suffering severe stab injuries. Somasundar, critically injured and covered in blood, managed to come out of the apartment and seek help. Residents immediately notified emergency services by calling 112.

But Somasundar succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. He was the third person to die in the horrific incident that had stunned residents of the area.

The murders took place in an apartment in Dhamnik Layout of Seegehalli, located under the KR Puram police station. Police officers rushed to the scene and started an investigation.

Forensic teams visited the apartment and collected evidence from the crime scene. The bodies of the victims were taken to a private hospital in Avalahalli for post-mortem examination.

Police have launched a search for Shwetha and Kenneth, who are currently missing. All angles of the case are being examined, from the relationship dispute and the events leading up to the fatal attack, they say.

The incident has led to much discussion about family and relationship disputes and violent crime in large urban neighbourhoods. Relatives, neighbours, and acquaintances will be questioned during the investigation, said J. Douglas Harkins, chief of the FBI's Atlanta division.

In addition, police are still searching for the suspects as they continue to work to figure out just what exactly happened that caused the tragic deaths of three members of the same family and to establish the exact sequence of events that led to the tragic deaths of three members of the same family.
