Although the summer heat in Bangalore is still relatively comfortable at around low to mid 30s degrees Celsius the rain in the summer is going to bring an occasional cooling-off for many people who work on late afternoons and evenings.

The weather experts consider the present conditions are fueled by moisture inflow and atmospheric instability, which are both necessary parameters to make a thunderstorm. It’s anticipated that there would be scattered but widespread thunderstorms in Karnataka, urban vs. rural areas.

With these rains in Bengaluru, even though there would probably be some time when some parts do not get it going and traffic congestion might occur at some of these times, or the traffic force would not help. And with wind speed of about 30 km/h and rain in place some areas will also have some branches that catch on the road (say).

A Yellow Alert, from the IMD, does not mean severe or strong weather, but just a warning that is a reminder to its people to have in mind about the common sense and know that the environment out there is about to turn into that situation at many times; and for residents should be conscious and take basic precautions, particularly in a thunder storm, like not sheltering in open spaces, not in the canopy of trees for lightning or if the weather goes off at any moment or rain and travel in a safe way. For daily commuters in Bengaluru this may mean thinking about travel a lot ahead and preparing for changes so long may happen soon in response to the weather changes.

The rainfall will also help areas of the state that have been in dry land and may not only be contributing to farmers but may also help replenish groundwater levels as farmers get relief in some areas with poor drainage systems under water. Authorities are keeping watch for any emergency scenario that could spring up if the weather changes due to any situation with an unusual level.

Outward weather changes also suggest that Karnataka can be in some form of the same position for the last few days with some cloudy and rain to frequent thunder rainfall at some point in the long haul. While this transitional phase suggests a gradual introduction to monsoon season ahead although it will not be rains for sure in the monsoon and that is still a long way behind.

In the meantime residents need to keep up to date with official weather bulletins ( official weather bulletins as part of what goes above and beyond and take precautions on the cool weather for this brief respite from the heat as of late September for long enough that at least if not longer it might be in good time.
