Residents in some parts of South and Southeast Delhi are likely to face a major water supply disruption as Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has scheduled a shutdown from 10:00 a.m. on July 6 to 4:00 p.m. on July 7, 2026.
The DJB said the temporary suspension of water supply is to enable connection of a new Mild Steel water pipeline of 1,500 mm diameter near Khizrabad Village. This is being done in compliance with directions of Delhi High Court.
The maintenance work is expected to affect the water supply of several residential and institutional areas. Residents should store water in advance and use it wisely during the shutdown.

The DJB said the infrastructure upgrade is intended to expand the city’s water supply network and improve water reliability in the affected areas, and they acknowledge the inconvenience to the residents.
