Karnataka is ripe for a big political development as the swearing-in ceremony of new ministers is expected to be held at 4 PM on Monday as part of the much-awaited Cabinet expansion.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) orally informed officials to make arrangements for the ceremony at the Glass House in Lok Bhavan, resulting in preparations at the venue. But the state government and Raj Bhavan have not yet issued a public statement to confirm the schedule or the names of the ministers.
Preparations Underway
Officials have started arranging logistics at the Glass House, including:
Stage and podium setup
Seating arrangements for dignitaries
Security deployment
Media facilitation
Guest list coordination
If the ceremony is held on time, the Governor is expected to administer the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers.
Cabinet Expansion in Focus
Cabinet expansion has been on the agenda for several days and is a key political exercise for the ruling government. We expect new ministers to fill vacant berths, regional representation opportunities to be given to different communities, and governance in all departments.
Political observers have said this change may have an effect on the government’s administrative operations and would help speed up the implementation of development programs.
Official List Still Awaited
While some names are being talked about in political circles as potential inductees, no official list of ministers has been released yet. The final composition of the expanded Cabinet will be known only after the state government or Raj Bhavan makes a formal announcement.
Tight Security Expected
With the Chief Minister, senior ministers, MLAs, top bureaucrats and other dignitaries likely to attend the event, extensive security arrangements are also being put in place around the venue.
As of now, the schedule is based on information circulating in government circles, and official confirmation is still awaited.
