The India Meteorological Department forecast a mixed weather pattern of Karnataka over the next seven days weather with higher temperature and light to medium rainfall expected in some parts of the state as expected.
Most districts in the state will still have dry weather as temperature increase by 2–3°C at maximum temperatures according to IMD. Northern Karnataka districts are likely to get hit by a lot of heat, with temperatures rising to record-high level over coming days.
The week ahead in Bengaluru will bring strong summer temperatures with intermittent clouds at intervals. Hot to the point of heat or at least temporarily fog.
Rainfall and Thunderstorm Activity
Cloud formation is expected after afternoon in coastal and southern interior areas. Light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and rapid gusty winds might be observed on small areas by evening or in the night.
Cities in Mangaluru and Udupi will likely be humid (as for warm one) and foggy (the other) throughout the day, after which clouds take form with the heat on the evening. Hubballi is going to be mostly dry and in hot conditions if the winds for the rest of this week are hot.
In hilly areas like Chikkamagaluru a moderate rainfall is expected, while Hassan may have light showers, especially at night or late at night. Belagavi would have partly cloudy skies and dry weather, with a chance of thunderstorms around April 4.
There is heatwave warning in North Karnataka.
Kalaburagi is expected to be under severe heat because 41°C is expected in Kalaburagi. Those in Kalaburagi and Hubballi are advised to keep out between 12 PM and 4 PM to keep themselves healthy to prevent heat illnesses and get hydrated.

Safety and Advisory
The state’s safety authorities offered safety guidelines for people in the area:
- Don’t stand around trees and near electrical equipment where thunder strikes.
- When lightning strikes, stay inside during the lightning time!
- Drink water in enough quantities to give you any possibility that you’re dehydrated.
- Malnad and south interior farmers should protect their crops from any rain for the harvest.
The IMD also suggested that rainfall activity might slightly increase after April 2 with more areas likely to experience light showers followed by thunder and lightning.
This weather pattern signals a transition phase as peak summer heat will be replaced before monsoon showers are possible and this would affect daily life and agriculture activities in Karnataka in many various areas.
