The deceased was Tanuja (31) from Beerammanahalli in Gauribidanur. As far as I gathered, she had married Ravindra, a resident of Mayasandra, Yelahanka, after they fell in love when working together.

We have heard the couple had become acquainted at their work, and their friendship developed into a relationship. They are said to have solemnised their marriage at Dharmasthala. According to preliminary reports, the marriage had not yet been disclosed to their families, and Tanuja was staying in a paying guest accommodation before later settling in a rented house in the Singapura area of Yelahanka.

Tanuja had asked Ravindra over the phone to meet her on the day of the incident, investigators said. Ravindra said he would visit the next morning since he could not come right away.

Tanuja switched off her phone, according to the initial investigation. Later at 10 a.m., Ravindra received a message from her to say that she had consumed poison and was sitting in Basavanahalli, Nelamangala.

After getting the message, Ravindra rushed to the spot. He found Tanuja in a serious condition and shifted her to the Nelamangala Government Hospital for emergency treatment.

However, doctors declared her dead despite the medical efforts.

Police don't know what was actually behind the alleged suicide, but they have started to investigate from all angles, including personal circumstances and the events leading up to the incident. Statements from Ravindra, family members, and other individuals connected to the deceased will be recorded as part of the investigation.

The case has been registered at the Nelamangala Town Police Station, and further investigation is ongoing. The exact cause of death and any contributing factors will be established based on the evidence collected during the inquiry and the post-mortem examination, the authorities said.

Police say they would not want to incite speculation or draw conclusions.
