Narendra Modi expressed confidence in the youth's strength and potential of India during the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ‘Mangal Milan’ meeting held at the Parliament Annexe ahead of the Monsoon session of Parliament. The remarks were also made by Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) MP Upendra Kushwaha, who was also present.
Kushwaha said the Prime Minister stressed that India's youth will play the most important role in achieving the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047, the year marking 100 years of the country’s Independence.

As Kushwaha said, Modi said in his speech that the world is looking at the capabilities of India’s youth and judging their talent, innovation and ability to contribute to the country's growth as a whole, and their potential to be a part of the country's development. And young Indians are indeed in a position to develop rapidly, he said, as they have the skills and determination to make India a developed country in the next two decades, he said.
The Prime Minister said he thinks some elements are trying to mislead the youth, but they are trying to misguide people, so leaders and society should ensure that young people are engaged with constructive nation building and development. He said he told the government's vision and the people, as well as its goal to use the energy, aspirations and creativity of the young generation to accomplish our common cause of national goals.
The NDA meeting (Mangal Milan) brought together Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, senior Union ministers, and members of NDA constituent parties. This meeting is traditionally held one day before Parliament begins and is an opportunity for alliance leaders to address the legislative priorities of the alliance and improve coordination.
Viksit Bharat 2047 is a long-term development agenda for the government of India. A long-term vision for India to be a developed nation is to achieve economic growth, technological development, infrastructure development, better governance, education, healthcare, and jobs.
Young people are central to this vision, since India has one of the world’s largest youth populations. Policymakers have often focused on the country’s demographic advantage and have put a lot of emphasis on education, skill development, entrepreneurship, digital technology and innovation to harness the potential of its workforce.
The Prime Minister has always encouraged young Indians to contribute to nation building by bringing innovation, startups, research, manufacturing and public service into the picture. Digital transformation, skill development and entrepreneurship are the three things government schemes are intended to enable young people to be part of India’s economic growth.
The NDA leadership is expected to carry these themes forward during the Monsoon Session as economic development, employment, infrastructure, technology, and governance will be the focus of discussion.
Kushwaha’s comments underscore the government’s emphasis on youth-led development as India approaches the long-term national goals. With the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 under which policy priorities lie, the leadership will continue to advocate for young people to be supported to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth.
