The 53-second video has been widely circulated online and shows chaotic scenes inside the hospital reception area. Family members are heard shouting at hospital staff and demanding to know how the teenager died after reportedly being admitted for treatment of a fractured leg. A clearly upset woman looks at hospital workers in distress, and a young man is crying and raising his hands in anguish. There are also people recording the confrontation on their mobile phones.

According to statements made by the deceased's family and circulated widely on social media, the teenager is Raju Kumar Ranjan, a resident of Jharkhand's Latehar district. His family says that he got a fractured leg in a road accident and was admitted to Raj Hospital for treatment.

The fracture wound was not properly dressed for two to three days after admission, the family claims, causing a severe infection that spread to his entire body. His condition deteriorated rapidly during treatment, and he needed ventilator support, the family said. They also claim that doctors later suggested amputating his leg after nearly 40 days of hospitalization.

The family asserts that Raju’s condition deteriorated despite weeks of treatment, but Raju eventually died. The hospital also gave them a medical bill of ₹22 lakh, and they are in distress and angry.

The allegations, which have not been independently confirmed, have caused intense debate on social media platforms. Many users have questioned the quality of medical care, the handling of the patient, and the financial burden placed on the family. The viral video has fueled public demands for accountability and transparency in the healthcare system.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed officials to take immediate action and investigate thoroughly. In his response, the Chief Minister directed the authorities to identify those responsible, take strict action against those found guilty, and report their findings.

At the time of publication, Raj Hospital has not released a statement on the allegations on social media. Yet neither police nor the state health department have had the official findings on the teenager’s death.

The claims of medical negligence, delayed treatment, infection, and the hospital bill made by the deceased's family and social media posts are based solely on allegations. These claims have not been independently verified, and the exact sequence of events leading to the patient's death is under investigation.

As a result, the outcome of the government-ordered probe will determine whether any lapses occurred during the teenager’s treatment and if additional legal or administrative action is warranted.
