A shocking murder took place in Bilekahalli in the Mico Layout area of Bengaluru, in which a man killed his wife after a row over her failure to answer his phone calls in the middle of the night. Ranjit Kumar Gupta (born in Bihar), the 48-year-old, is arrested by Mico Layout police for the murder of his wife, Gunja Madesia (38).
The couple had been residing in a rented house in Bilekahalli along with their children. Police believe that allegations of disputes between husband and wife over phone calls led to a violent confrontation.
The incident occurred after the couple's children had left for school, the police statement said. Ranjit and Gunja got into an argument over phone calls, and Ranjit was reported to have attacked his wife in the course of the argument. The police say he strangled her using a veil and saree, resulting in her death.
