India won the toss and elected to bowl first. It worked out well for India as their bowlers restricted Nepal to 128 runs and the team was in a strong position to start its campaign with a win.

Nepal Bowled Out for 128 Runs

India’s bowling attack put in a great show against Nepal as they prevented the opposition from getting a big total.

Nepal could not build partnerships throughout the innings as India bowlers kept taking wickets. Arjun Rajput was one of the pick of the bowlers with three for eight off 5.3 overs.

Darsh Sonar of Nepal was top run-scorer with 43 runs off 93 deliveries but the rest of the batting line-up could not support him and take the team to a competitive total.

India need 129 runs now to win their opening Asia Cup fixture.

Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid in Focus

Much of the focus around India’s Under-19 campaign will be on Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid.

Aaryavir is the son of former India opener Virender Sehwag and Anvay is the son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid.

Both youngsters have earned their places in the Indian squad through domestic age-group cricket and they also scored centuries in Vinoo Mankad Trophy — showing potential at junior level.

Aaryavir is top order batter, Anvay wicketkeeping and batting options. Asia Cup gives both of them an important opportunity to prove who they are — not just because of their famous family names.

Lakshya Raichandani Leads India's U19 Team

Lakshya Raichandani is India's captain in the 2026 tournament while Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan is vice-captain.

There are several young cricketers in the squad who will be looking to make an impact in the continental competition.

India go into the tournament on the back of a 3-0 series sweep against Australia in their last two Under-19 assignments.

The team will be hoping to take that form into the Asia Cup and compete for another continental title.

India Look for Winning Start in U19 Asia Cup

India want to get off to a good start against Nepal before they begin a tough Group A campaign that also includes Pakistan and UAE.

The India-Pakistan match scheduled on November 8 will be another big game for the young Indian side.

For now though, India have to complete the chase against Nepal. With 129 runs required their batting unit has a chance to turn the bowlers’ good work into a tournament opening win.

Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid will also be watched closely as India’s next generation try to stamp their mark on international age-group cricket.
