World’s Largest Hotel Bed in Seoul: Walk Across This Unique Attraction

Another fascinating addition to a city famous for its innovations, Seoul has a hotel that, currently, is home to what some believe is the world’s biggest bed. It is less the vastness of the attraction but the fact that visitors can go for a stroll on it, transforming just a few pieces of furniture into an atmosphere of soaking in enjoyment.

The wide bed has been going viral and luring visitors and locals alike. If the beds popular in hotels were for comfort and sleep, this giant work of art spans space and time; this towering installation is part design, part experience in the interaction of function and art.

So guests get to get up and explore the vast expanse of the bed upon which they lie; they have a tongue-in-cheek and exploratory experience. This giant bed was born out of creativity and experiential tourism. But today’s hotels want to offer something much more than that, so-called “comforts” or rather, the tedious extras, moments worth sharing and going over nicely on social media.

And this installation might do just that, courtesy of the option for guests to clip intimate, weird clips and videos that will soon (almost instantly) slip up onto the expansive, vast canvas of the internet. A bed is, in reality, really good furniture. The bed is also massive, as it resembles a general bed; it has all the pillows and blankets and a cushy, padded bed.

But its bigness means the thing is almost surreal, too, as it sends you plunging into this tiny world where, in the end, ordinary things turn fantastical. Such attractions are essential for encouraging people to go to places, tourism experts said. These strange installations appeal and draw in foreign visitors as they urge local tourists looking for more adventures in their own country.

Seoul, as well as other places, is constantly pushing the boundaries as the world tourism field becomes more competitive. There’s this little bit of pun, but it’s also oddly reassuring, some people might say, after spending time, if not a lifetime, in, well, the giant bed.

Touching incorporates stepping over a delicate, soft surface, too, and the magnitude of the scale and the size of the installation also prompt curiosity and awe. Nonstandard hotel features are a trend in Seoul as well. Hotels around the world are testing out different layouts, such as a new underwater room or a small treehouse stay.

The world’s largest bed is known for not only its simplicity, but it’s available to everyone at once. And every bed is just kind of everyone’s bed, so at least on scale, you have to enjoy it. With travel going in such new directions, encounters like these indicate a new style of tourists’ demand. Not just where you stay anymore, but even more, what you see when you are there. That’s why there’s a spot for “walking across the world’s largest bed” on its list for Seoul.
