Maruti Suzuki Announces Price Hike of Up to ₹30,000 Effective August

The biggest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, is going to increase the price of vehicles by up to ₹30,000 for all models in India from August. The change is needed to partially offset rising input costs and increasing operational expenses, the company said.

Based on the model and variants, the price hike will vary depending on the model and variant and consumers will pay up to ₹30,000 more for certain vehicles after the new prices come into effect. Maruti Suzuki said that it has always worked hard to manage costs and increase operational efficiency, and therefore it will now be necessary to pass on a portion of the increased costs to customers.

The decision comes as automobile manufacturers are facing increasing costs of raw materials, logistics, and production. Steel, aluminium, plastics, electronic components, and other key inputs are rising, and the price of these components has been raised for vehicle manufacturers in recent years.

Maruti Suzuki has undergone several price revisions in recent years as the automotive industry adapts to the current market environment and compliance costs increase. The latest revision will affect the various models in the company’s product range, but the exact increase will depend on the specific model and variant.

The company remains the market leader in India's passenger vehicle segment with a wide range of hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and MPVs. On the list of popular models: Alto K10, WagonR, Swift, Baleno, Dzire, Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Jimny and Invicto are among the ones that could see revised pricing, subject to model-wise announcements.

Despite the price increase, industry experts say passenger vehicle demand should be buoyant and is likely to remain strong as consumers are interested in buying vehicles, financing options are better, and the festive season is coming on later in the year. The buyer who plans to buy a Maruti Suzuki vehicle will have to complete their bookings ahead of the new price in August.

The automobile industry has seen similar pricing actions from several manufacturers over the past year, reflecting broader inflationary pressures and evolving production costs. Companies are investing in new technologies, safety features and cleaner mobility solutions while balancing profitability and customer affordability.

Maruti Suzuki is committed to reliable, fuel-efficient and technologically advanced vehicles with high quality and customer service. Details of model-wise price changes will be available closer to the launch date.
