A minimum of 18 years. As noted in the notice lodged by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), the RRB announced the minimum age limit from 18 years and maximum age level from 33 years for the post of Technician Grade-I Signal. Candidates for the Technician Grade-III must also be between 18 and 30 years old. The cut-off date to be determined for determining age eligibility is July 1. But they will relax the upper age limit by offering candidates in reserve classified categories the preference under government customs.

Application Fee

For qualified applicants in General category (as per General category), they will need to pay Rs 500. Out of this, Rs 400 will be refunded on entry into CBT after deducting applicable bank charges once the candidate appears for the CBT. Candidates in SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Divyang, Women, Transgender members, Minority and Economically Backward Class (EBC) will be required to apply and pay an application fee; the equivalent of Rs 250 is also recouped on receipt of bank returns upon appearing in the CBT after bank fees have been deducted.

Examination Process

For both Technician Grade-I Signal and Technician Grade-III positions there would be a computer based test (CBT) with document verification. Post-based CBTs will be performed separately for every post. The examination will run for 90 minutes, after which candidates have to answer 100 questions. This is in view of the principle of negative marking, that one in three (⅓) points is deducted for every wrong answer.
