Superstar Allu Arjun has praised Ram Charan's performance in the recently released Telugu sports drama Peddi. Arjun said he watched the film the night before and was left “mind‑blown” with Charan’s raw acting, remarkable body transformation and electrifying dance moves.
Arjun is so proud of his ‘brother,’ and Charan’s dedication and commitment elevated the movie. Jagapathi Babu, Janhvi Kapoor and director Buchi Babu Sana had also contributed, he added, so it was the team that made Peddi a great movie.
Peddi is set in rural Andhra Pradesh in the 1980s and incorporates cricket, wrestling and running among other sports and is set to be released on June 4, 2026. It is about community pride, resilience and sports and Charan’s character is the one who leads the film through emotional and physical struggles.
Even if the film has been criticized for its nearly three‑hour running time, the film’s emotional finale and Charan’s transformational performance have been well received by the film’s audience. And his performance has been called one of the most raw and powerful in his career, and it has established him as a versatile actor able to convey an endearing mass appeal with depth to the most beautiful of roles.
Peddi has been unstoppable at the box office. Within five days of release it grossed more than ₹315 crore worldwide and is one of the biggest openings in Telugu cinema history. Strong collections in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and overseas markets have propelled it, and word of mouth is driving it forward.
Allu Arjun’s support adds to the success of the film. The high-energy actor, who is also in the film’s directorial background and who also plays in the film, praises Arjun’s performance, which only shows the level of camaraderie and mutual respect between Telugu cinema’s main actors.
Peddi is a testimony to Ram Charan’s dedication and Buchi Babu Sana’s vision. With an excellent critical reception and good audience and industry backing in place, the film will be a landmark in 2026. As Allu Arjun aptly put it, Charan’s performance is “mind-blowing” and Peddi will go down in history as a defining moment in his career.
