The high-concept survival thriller Tu Yaa Main was theatrically released on Friday, February 13, 2026, starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, the film took in a modest response at home after its box office opened.
A Clash of Romeos: Box Office Competition
Tu Yaa Main had a major first day problem, in the middle of the high-profile launch of Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri’s O Romeo. If O Romeo has seen a strong initial push of more than ₹8.25 crore, Tu Yaa Main aimed at a more niche, youth audience offering its “influencers vs. nature” formula.
Critically Acclaimed Performances
The box office numbers were quiet but the film has been praised for its brave storytelling and technical tenacity. Plot: The premise centers around two social media stars, Avani (aka Miss Vanity, Shanaya Kapoor) and Maruti (aka Aala Flowpara, Adarsh Gourav) who find themselves stuck in an empty swimming pool with a live crocodile while on a romantic trip.
Performances: Adarsh Gourav has been lauded by critics for his groundbreaking performance as a Nalasopara rapper in the knockout role, and Shanaya Kapoor is known for her better showing up on screen. But it's about gaining trust in a unique genre like survival horror. Bejoy Nambiar’s direction has been put forward as a great directorial vision, and with an immersive sound design and special effects that is both beautiful this has made 'Gripping Ride' and a story that maintains that feeling of the grittier movie without losing touch with its edge.
The Road Ahead
With the Valentine’s Day weekend in full swing, the makers are looking forward to a “miraculous jump” in collections on Saturday and Sunday. Given that this film tackles the themes of Gen Z fame and ego and modern love, the Valentine’s crowds could increase occupancy at urban multiplexes as well. For theaters that don’t watch it, Netflix has obtained the digital streaming rights for the film which will come out on April 10, 2026.
