Following their magical, dreamlike intimate wedding in Udaipur last month, India’s best couple, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna lovingly known as “Virosh” hosted a grand wedding reception tonight at the Taj Krishna in Hyderabad. Although the event was strictly invitation-only due to security measures, the couple treated the paparazzi that awaited them well, in their perfect royal South Indian duo outfits.
A Cultural Power Point
Deviating from the latest lehengas and tuxedos commonly worn at celebrity galas, Vijay and Rashmika decided on a style rooted in ethnic heritage.
Rashmika Mandanna: The “National Crush” was an idea a rich, red Mysore silk saree by Sabyasachi. The drape also featured a bold black-and-gold border that she wore with an elbow-length blouse. Heavy gold temple jewellery (layered necklaces, statement jhumkas, delicate mathapatti) added to her look. Her traditional bridal avatar consisted of a low braid topped with fresh red flowers.
Vijay Deverakonda: Complementing his bride, Vijay oozed "Rowdy" sophistication in a vintage ivory veshti-style dhoti and a matching short-sleeved kurta. He also topped the outfit off with a traditional angavastram draped neatly over his shoulder and a simple layered metallic chain, showing that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
Star-Studded Guest List
The “who’s-who” of Indian film and political circles came to the table that evening. Even though the list was trimmed for safety, the red carpet was swelled with talent:
- Tollywood royalty: Megastar Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Nani and Nagarjuna were among those who arrived to bless the couple.
- Bollywood: Close Mumbai pals Karan Johar, Kriti Sanon (Rashmika’s co-star in Cocktail 2) and Manish Malhotra arrived in droves for the revelry.
- Political Visits: The occasion was attended by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his family.
From Udaipur to Hyderabad
Officials said the couple then officially weds on 26 February 2026 in a private ceremony that fused Vijay’s Telugu roots and Rashmika’s Kodava heritage. From there they still appear to be reciting Satyanarayana Pooja in Hyderabad and going to the Tirumala Tirupati temple, although they always take the opportunity from there to enjoy their union spiritually and more specifically through traditional aspects.
“In order to have that feeling of home and calm... I made my best friend my wife,” Vijay said in a wedding announcement, and you could see the spirit in their face as they walked together tonight, smiling brightly.
The reception is also the end of the weeks-long #ViroshWedding festivities, as the pair returns to their film sets set up for their forthcoming joint project, Ranabaali.
