The current LPG crisis in Bengaluru has had a second turn in that people are charging more for doorstep delivery. Delivery employees across the board at the time of a shortage of supplies, especially in West Asia, said to the news channel. They were asked to pay around ₹50 to ₹100 more extra for each cylinder to arrive home, an issue raised by Karnataka’s Food and Civil Supplies Minister with the Legislative Council.
Delivery is a part of all our LPG cylinders are covered RSP of RSP so this will be not the issue then K.H. Muniyappa states for a longer time. Gas supply agencies and delivery-people have no legal status to bill for those additional fees, whether the consumer works in a house alone, in a high-rise apartment or in an office area.
Oil marketing companies have made it clear to the government that no extra service fee is accepted and collecting it is in breach of Marketing Discipline Guidelines 2022, said Minister of State for Energy Development Peter van der Kamp. For this reason, there is a dedicated helpline for consumers in which complaint process that will be made against agencies will not have to make as long without being in charge of all collections on behalf of consumers.
There are even warnings given to distributors that this is prohibited or encouraged if it will happen. With a high level of activity in the sector now as per this condition, this will require commercial cylinders for hotels, some restaurants. They are allocated daily 10,000 cylinders only, not every day 40,000 to support every night all shops and other activities of the public. Other than that, the Government wants to move to Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and biomethane options on the whole to reduce city use of LPG cylinders and limit potential supply-side prices.
