A heartbreaking incident has rocked Bangalore after a man allegedly killed his four-month-pregnant wife and committed suicide in an incident that was a result of family disputes. A police station in the South Division of Bengaluru, according to relatives and neighbours, left them in horror.
Manoj and Swapna have been identified. Swapna was four months pregnant at the time of her death, so it was even more tragic. Senior police officials, including South Division DCP Vamsi Krishna, visited the scene and tried to investigate the cause of death.
Married for Three Years
Police sources said Manoj and Swapna had been married for nearly three years. Manoj, a Bengaluru native, worked as a carpenter and lived with his parents in a joint family. The couple had been living a normal married life, and family members were looking forward to welcoming their first child after learning that Swapna was pregnant.
But investigators believe that domestic disputes had recently emerged between the couple. The exact nature of the disputes is yet to be officially confirmed.
Incident Under Investigation
According to the very initial investigation, police suspect the murder and subsequent suicide had to do with family disputes. But so far, authorities have not revealed the exact sequence of events or the motive behind the incident.
Forensic experts have examined the scene, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Police are also recording statements from family members, neighbours, and others who can help make sense of what happened before the incident.

Family Left Devastated
The deaths have devastated both families. Relatives who had been eagerly awaiting the birth of the couple’s child are now mourning the loss of both the young couple and their unborn baby.
Neighbours said the family was quiet and shocked by what happened, adding they had no indication such a tragedy would happen.
