Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has announced that what he described as “Season 2” of Jantar Mantar will begin soon, hinting at a fresh phase of protest activity in the national capital.
After the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) victory against NEET protest in 'Jantar Mantar ', the protesters had demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over irregularities in several of that year's national examinations — the 2026 NEET paper leak and the CBSE On-Screen Marking irregularities — along with broader reforms in the conduct of public examinations. The agitation drew national attention after activist Sonam Wangchuk began an indefinite hunger strike at the protest site on 28 June.
On 20 July, thousands of protesters, comprising primarily students and Gen Z congregants, gathered near Jantar Mantar, defying orders from the Delhi Police to disperse, and began to march toward Parliament. Clashes ensued, with police using baton charges and tear gas against protesters in an attempt to prevent them from reaching the Parliament, where the monsoon session was underway. International media outlets, including France 24 and CNN, described the protests as the largest demonstrations against the country's government in several years, while the Delhi Police stated their actions were necessary to maintain public order. Following the police response, CJP leaders announced the movement would not organize further street marches in the capital, though the sit-in at Jantar Mantar and the campaign for Pradhan's resignation would continue.

On 23 July 2026, Wangchuk ended his hunger strike after the government assured him that no legal action would be taken against protesters rallying at the Jantar Mantar site, a discussion would be held on preventing paper leaks in the future, and compensation would be given to students who committed suicide. Pradhan resigned on 25 July 2026. The protests were called off later in the day after the government agreed to the CJP's demands.
Whereas CJP celebrated their victory along with the participating protesters. Brining the confident among their follower that CJP is a very strong Gen Z united Party which will finally bring change in India. As per this, more followers have increased on Instagram, and they are commenting aesthetically on when the ' Jantar Mantar ' Season 2 will be.
At the same time, Jantar Mantar has traditionally been one of Delhi's prominent locations for demonstrations and public protests. Political parties, student groups, civil society organizations and various movements have historically used the area to highlight their demands and draw public attention to issues of national importance.
However, the exact date, location, agenda and nature of the proposed “Season 2 of Jantar-Mantar” have not yet been disclosed. It is also unclear whether Dipke was referring to a formal protest, a campaign or another public event.
The announcement comes against the backdrop of continuing debate over protests at Jantar Mantar. The location has remained a key site for demonstrations, although questions have also been raised over crowd management, public inconvenience, security and the suitability of the area for large-scale protests.
The Supreme Court recently agreed to examine a public interest litigation questioning whether Jantar Mantar remains an appropriate location for protests. The matter has added another dimension to the ongoing discussion about public demonstrations in central Delhi.
Against this backdrop, any new protest activity announced by the CJP is likely to attract attention from both supporters and authorities. Police and civic agencies could be required to make arrangements depending on the scale and nature of the proposed gathering.
For now, Dipke has offered no detailed schedule but has made it clear that the group intends to begin what he calls the second season of its Jantar Mantar campaign “very soon.”
The announcement is likely to generate further discussion online, particularly among those who have been following the CJP's previous activities. Supporters are expected to await additional information about the programme, while authorities may monitor developments surrounding any proposed gathering.
With Dipke's statement, attention now shifts to the next announcement from the Cockroach Janta Party and whether “Season 2 of Jantar-Mantar” will translate into another major protest activity in Delhi.
