The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has said it wants to change the public conversation around the “real issues” affecting the country’s youth by taking disciplinary action against one of its own spokespersons. CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the party has recalled Vijeta Dahiya because they find the content of his videos inappropriate.
Ranka spoke about the party’s wider vision in broad terms and claimed that the younger generation is no longer willing to remain silent about issues that directly impact their lives. Public attention has been diverted for too long by debates that do not address ordinary citizens, as he said.

His message is also part of the party’s bid to position itself as young people’s voice and to highlight governance, accountability and community concerns over political distractions. The spokesperson also commented on the party's decision to remove Vijeta Dahiya from the position. Ranka said the decision was made following videos of Dahiya that the party thought were not in line with public expectations.
"There were videos of him that we thought were insensitive and, keeping public sentiment in mind, we decided to let go of him," Ranka said.
The party has not disclosed any further details about the content of the videos or the reason behind the decision. But the statement says that the leadership saw the issue seriously enough to take disciplinary action in order to maintain its image and organizational standards.
Political parties are now increasingly under scrutiny for their leaders and their media representatives in the age of social media and videos, and public statements can be quickly disseminated. As a result, parties respond very quickly to controversies that may damage their credibility or the public’s perception.
With Dahiya removed, the Cockroach Janta Party seems to be signaling to its base followers that if the actions of its representatives do not speak to the party’s values or public expectations, then it is willing to act. In so doing, the party might have to be more focused on internal accountability and to convince its supporters that the party takes public opinion seriously.
Ranka’s comments on youth participation come at a time when political parties across India are increasingly seeking to engage first-time voters and younger citizens. Now whether the Cockroach Janta Party can translate its message into more widespread support remains to be seen. But its latest statements indicate a dual strategy—to portray itself as a youth-oriented political force and fight against members who do not fit the party’s standards.
As politics gets more competitive, parties will continue to stress transparency, accountability, and youth involvement, and public perception is going to influence both leadership decisions and electoral narratives.
