Delhi Traffic Advisory: These Roads Will Be Diverted for Navy Half Marathon Tomorrow

National capital commuters are cautioned to make their trip carefully as Delhi Traffic Police have released a complete advisory on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Many key stretches in Central and South Delhi will be subject to traffic regulations and diversions to ensure the Indian Navy Half Marathon can be completed for more than 15,000 participants. On a note of fitness and naval camaraderie, the event was announced. The Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium would be flagged off at 5:00 AM.

Traffic Timings & Routes  

Movement per route will be regulated for the periods of 4:45 AM to 9:00 AM. Emergency vehicles will continue to navigate, although general traffic will be diverted from one point to the other depending on the extent of the runners.

1. Half Marathon (21.01 km) – Starts 5:30 AM  

Route: JLN Stadium (Gate No. 1) → Bhishma Pitamah Marg → Lodhi Road → Lala Lajpat Rai Marg → Mathura Road → Subramania Bharti Marg → Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg → India Gate C-Hexagon → Kartavya Path → Rafi Marg → Sansad Marg → Janpath Road → finishing back in JLN Stadium

2. 10 km and 5 km Run – Starts 6:30 AM & 7:30 AM  

Route: These shorter runs will be mostly across parts of Bhishma Pitamah Marg, Lodhi Road, Mathura Road and the roads that go next to the stadium.

Key Road Diversions  

Drivers should avoid the following key intersections and bypasses, which will be utilized as mandated:  

  • 4th Avenue-Bhishma Pitamah Marg Junction  
  • Kotla Red Light and Sewa Nagar Red Light  
  • Aurobindo Marg-Lodhi Road Junction  
  • Junctions at the Subramania Bharti Marg  
  • Mathura Road-Bhairon Road Junction  
  • Janpath-Maulana Azad Road  
  • India Gate C-Hexagon & Kartavya Path

Suggested Alternate Routes  

The Traffic Police have laid out the following streets for traffic crossing the city:

  • North–South corridor: Ring Road, Ashram Chowk, Sarai Kale Khan, IP Flyover and ISBT Kashmere Gate.  
  • East–West corridor: DND Flyway, AIIMS Chowk, Dhaula Kuan as well as Naraina Flyover.  
  • Central Connectivity: The Delhi Metro is recommended to be used by commuters to prevent transport jams, since several surface roads in the New Delhi district will be limited until 9:00 AM.
