A shocking shooting incident in Karnataka's Dharwad district has triggered panic and concern after a jewellery shop owner allegedly opened fire on three people, including a minor girl, following a dispute over pledged gold ornaments.

From initial information, the dispute began when residents from Jiragivada village of Dharwad Taluk came to the jewellery shop to ask for gold ornaments that were pledged to them. Ningappa, Siddappa and a little girl named Shraddha Baiyappanavar, all of whom live in Jiragivada village, were among the injured, he said. Police found gunshot wounds to the legs, abdomen and thighs of the victims in all the areas.
After the shooting, residents rushed to the scene for help and police and emergency services rushed to the scene. The victims were immediately brought to Dharwad District Hospital, where they are being treated, medical sources said.
