A 27-year-old woman employed with an information technology company in Gurugram was found dead in mysterious circumstances in a house near Mussoorie-Dhanolti in a residential area in Delhi. Police have identified P. Radha Gayatri, a resident of South Delhi, who had gone to the hill station with her husband for a quick respite.
The incident was reported to police on Monday morning when the police received the information of an unresponsive woman in Kiana Homestay in Tipridhar, near Mussoorie, officials said. Emergency services immediately sent an ambulance to the site so that they could respond immediately. However, a doctor who was on site and the emergency team declared the woman dead when she was seen.
At this point, Radha Gayatri and her husband, who works in the IT sector in Pune, had travelled from Delhi to Rishikesh on June 13 before continuing to Mussoorie. The couple entered a room called "Bliss" at the homestay for their stay at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Police said that their initial investigation showed the couple spent time in the room and had alcohol before going to sleep in the early hours of Monday morning. Both of them retired for the night at 3:30 a.m., according to the husband's account. He told investigators that when he woke up, he found his wife unresponsive on the floor of the room.
It became more worrying when investigators found signs that needed further attention. According to police officials, blood was seen coming out of the victim’s nose when the woman was found. Officers also found bloodstains on the bedsheet inside the room. The woman was found on the floor without clothes, and investigators carefully recorded and collected evidence for forensic examination, the report said.
The police found two empty liquor bottles and food items during the search of the room. These materials are being documented as part of the investigation, and investigators will examine all the available evidence to determine what happened to the woman's death.
The couple was originally from Visakhapatnam and had married on November 8, 2025. The fact that the marriage was so recent has also been a focus of investigation at present, but police have not made any official announcement.
The body has been sent to Coronation Hospital in Dehradun for post-mortem examination. Police have asked that the autopsy be carried out by a panel of doctors and that the whole process be videographed. Investigations are often carried out in the presence of unexplained or suspicious deaths to ensure accuracy and the integrity of the investigation.
Manoj Aswal, Circle Officer, confirmed that the woman's family members have been informed about the tragedy. Her parents, who reside in Visakhapatnam, were expected to travel to Dehradun to complete the necessary formalities and participate in the investigation.
As the police stressed, it’s too early to conjecture about the cause of death. The post-mortem examination will be the key information in determining what could have led to the young woman’s death. Forensic evidence, medical reports, witness accounts, and other information will be used to determine whether the woman died through natural causes, an accident, or other reasons requiring legal action.
Police have assured us that every aspect of the investigation will be thoroughly examined. The mystery behind the young IT professional’s death has created a lot of questions, and officials say we will see a clearer picture only after the medical and forensic reports are complete. It would be until then that investigators would be trying to get the evidence and facts out of the tragic incident.
