CRPF jawan is said to have committed suicide in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district in a fatal case from Karnataka’s Kodagu district. The alleged combatant is identified as Naveen KJ, who belongs to the Yadavare village in the Somwarpet taluk of Kodagu.
Reportedly, the incident occurred in the Ladiyar area of Tral in Pulwama district, where Naveen works in the 180th Battalion of the CRPF. Officials said the jawan reportedly shot himself with his service rifle while on duty. It is uncertain why he took such drastic action. Investigators are still studying the incident. This case has been registered with the Tral Police Station.
Soldier from Kodagu
Naveen KJ is from the Yadavare village in Somwarpet taluk, a place where numerous brave men have fought for our country. The son of Joyappa and Vishalakshi, he served in one of the country’s most sensitive security areas with the CRPF. The death stunned the citizens of his hometown and left a huge burden on his family.
Naveen is now survived by his parents, his wife, his son and his daughter. The tragedy also affects his family and the villagers. The locals described Naveen as an exceedingly strict and disciplined individual who was devoted and extremely well-respected within the village.
Incident Under Investigation
Naveen had been deployed in the Tral area of Pulwama, an area that is a key victim of security operations, officials said. The jawan died in the context of a job with his service weapon, that’s the first report. It was an incident being investigated by security agencies and police officials. Authorities have not proven whether the soldier was under personal stress, health problems or professional distress. The CRPF and local law enforcement will thoroughly investigate to identify what caused it.
Mortal Remains Expected in Native Village
By Tuesday evening, Naveen’s mortal remains would be taken to his native village, Kodagu. The people of Yadavare village prepare for his last rites. Many citizens are reportedly to meet for a communal ceremony and pay honour to the jawan. The death of the young soldier once more underscores the mental toll and mental anguish on security workers in the country’s war-torn regions.
Increased Attention on the Mental Health of the Security Forces
Death by suicide among armed and paramilitary troops has become a public concern in recent years. On the ground, troops who were forced to meet these deadly dangers should provide a robust mental health support system, counselling and stress management programs, said experts. As there have been further investigations, Naveen’s relatives and the residents of his own village are mourning the loss of a soldier who died to advance the nation.
