A shocking crime has rocked the city of Karimnagar, Telangana. A man named Kacchu Srisailam, of Jubilee Nagar, murdered four‑year‑old twins Geethan Sri and Geethanvika. As reported, he poisoned the children and shoved them into an agricultural well. Local people were horrified by his actions and thrashed him and handed him over to the police.
The reason behind this brutal act is disturbing to say the least. Srisailam hated having daughters. His prejudice and anger made him commit a crime that has rocked the community in grief and outrage. Mounika, the mother of the children, is in a horrible state since the incident and she is left with untold suffering and years of suffering.
This tragedy is an ugly reality in society: gender bias. Many families still regard daughters as a burden, whereas sons are more valuable than they are. This thinking is outdated but also dangerous. It breeds crimes that ruin families and rob children of their right to live.
It is important to remember that the father determines the gender of the child. A child is born a girl because the father’s sperm provided the X chromosome, not the Y chromosome. Blaming or punishing daughters for their gender is not only ignorant but also inhuman.
If someone doesn’t want daughters, there are humane alternatives. Adoption is one option for children to have a better life. But the better thing is to not be parents at all if such thoughts are ever there. Parenthood is love, care, and responsibility; it is not about prejudice or cruelty.
The murder of Geethan Sri and Geethanvika is not just a family tragedy; it is a social wound. It’s a reminder of the need to fight gender discrimination and prevent children from being victims of violence. Society must work together to ensure that such crimes are punished and that awareness can be spread about equality and compassion.
Children are gifts for boys or girls. They deserve love, safety, and dignity. Those who cannot accept this truth do not deserve to bring children into the world.
