Aman Rao Breaks Indian T20 Record as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Closes in on Sachin Tendulkar’s Historic Milestone

The Indian cricket is now seeing the awakening of a fearless new generation and Rajasthan Royals are at the helm of it. Just a day after 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi completed the fastest half-century in List A cricket with 11 balls, another Royals player has etched his name in history in his own right with a record-breaking performance too. Aman Rao Perala, the 22-year-old Hyderabad batsman who was part of the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, now has the fastest century by an Indian batter in domestic T20 league cricket. The two young Royals players have set the bar high in Indian cricket and they are a great preview of the sport becoming part of the future of the sport in the country.

Aman's record-breaking innings came in the Telangana T20 League and produced one of the most destructive knocks in Indian domestic cricket. Facing Medak Falcons, he hit his century in just 32 balls and broke the previous record and made his name in the history books. But Aman was not done there, and was able to score 142 runs in 48 deliveries. He hit 12 boundaries and 13 big sixes which was a record strike rate of 295.83. Aman’s knock has suddenly become one of the most talked-about performances in domestic cricket this year. But Rajasthan Royals signed him for ₹30 lakh during the IPL 2026 auction, so his IPL debut did not come in. Performances like that will surely fortify his chances for a bigger role in the future.

While Aman was rewriting T20 records, his Rajasthan Royals teammate Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is currently in the limelight for accomplishments that would be remarkable for a 16-year-old still in his teens. The young Bengaluru boy had a dream IPL 2026 and ended as the highest run-scorer with 776 runs and the Orange Cap. His fantastic form has now earned him a place in India's T20I squads for the upcoming series against Ireland and England. Vaibhav has shown his skills again while representing India A in Sri Lanka. In the tri-series final against Sri Lanka A, he scored 94 runs in 29 balls with a score of 10 sixes and 10 fours to win India the match and he won the Player of the Match.

Now, all eyes are on June 26 when India plays Ireland in Belfast. If Vaibhav is in the playing XI, he will break a record that has stood for nearly four decades. He will become the youngest player in the Indian men's cricket team to surpass Sachin Tendulkar and it is a huge accomplishment. With Aman Rao Perala breaking domestic batting records and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on the way to a first-class debut, Indian cricket fans have every reason to be excited. The future is coming faster than expected, and it is wearing Rajasthan Royals colours.
