Madurai-born Selva got a silver medal at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali and became the first Indian to be Asia’s Under-20 Male Athlete of the Year. Selva competed in the United States for Kansas State University and won the NCAA Outdoor Triple Jump Championship and broke 17 meters.
