An Ever-Present Wind. The wind is nature's most perplexing mystery. It is real in every situation, both powerful in practice and almost entirely unseen. The wind sweeps the Earth, hurling kites up into the sky and sending birds dancing in all directions. It buzzes and rustles in the grasses of vast open fields, skirting the grass as if passing ladies' skirts. However, even as we feel its touch and hear its voice, the wind is unseen and never clearly named or revealed.
The Constant Companion
And of course from sun up to sundown the wind grinds on. It can press gently against us or roar loudly, carrying world sounds in its invisible currents. Music is in its movement; a song which saturates the air with life, full and loose, as it tells us that even what isn't visible can come to mark our lives.

That said, for its strength, the wind is always elusive. It's strong, cold, yet playful and unpredictable. It can feel ancient, as though it has floated back from across the earth for centuries, or young, like a playfully determined child running through trees and fields. It is in such obscure and indeterminate existence that this nature is what is the mystery of the wind.
Lessons from the Wind
The wind reminds us to learn to appreciate what you can’t always see. It works quietly but leaves marks all over about the curve of trees, the puff of leaves, the lift of kites. And it makes us realize that not all forces must be seen to be felt, and that nature is full of energy, of movement, of wonder.
