Vijayapura: A Renault Duster car parked on the roadside caught fire and was completely engulfed in flames near the Old Bazaar area of Sindagi town in Vijayapura district.
The incident was linked to a Renault Duster with registration number KA 28 MB 3765. It belongs to Anand Ijeri, a resident of Markappanahalli village in Devarahipparagi taluk.
According to preliminary information, the car caught fire while Anand Ijeri and his driver, Chandrakant Wali, had traveled to Sindagi to have a personal visit. They had apparently been in the town to look for a prospective bride when the incident occurred.
The car was parked by the roadside near Old Bazaar when flames began to erupt. Within a short period of time, the fire spread and engulfed the car, causing panic in the surrounding area.
People within proximity of the scene also alerted the authorities after they saw the vehicle on fire. Fire and emergency workers soon reached the scene and began the operation to stop the flames.
