Swiggy (India’s leading food delivery platform) has launched a major initiative in order to enhance service for its restaurant partners all over South India. Swiggy has launched a multilingual Interactive Voice Response (IVR) calling facility along with the development of a dedicated helpdesk to get restaurant owners involved in the platform a faster and more effective solution.
The change will also be beneficial to thousands of restaurant partners that depend on Swiggy for online food delivery and business growth. It is also trying to remove communication barriers and make the work process easier for its partners with the service for their language support services in regional languages.
Support in Four South Indian Languages
As the language diversity in South India is recognised, Swiggy has introduced its new IVR service in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. Restaurant owners can now get help in their native language by calling the dedicated helpline number 080 6746 6777.
The company noted that this service was designed for restaurant partners who frequently struggle to communicate in non-native languages. Whether it is orders, payments, onboarding, account management, technical issues, or operational support, partners are now able to ask for help in the language they are most comfortable with.
More than an Automated IVR System
Unlike traditional customer support systems that rely on automated voice responses, Swiggy has also made dedicated support executives who understand regional languages with which they can communicate. This means restaurant partners will receive automated help and speak directly with trained support staff who can assist and get to know their problems as well as provide them with personalised support.
The introduction of language-specific support agents will greatly increase the resolution time for issues and avoid misunderstandings due to language differences.
Addressing Long-Standing Communication Challenges
Many restaurant owners, particularly those serving small and medium-sized shops in regional markets, have often been unable to explain business-related concerns in English or Hindi. Language barriers can lead to delayed resolution of complaints or understanding platform policies and operational processes.
With multilingual support, restaurant partners can speak freely in their mother tongue and report issues, seek clarification, and get the best services. Industry observers believe this will enhance overall satisfaction among restaurant partners and increase trust in using the platform.
Building Relationships with Restaurant Partners
Swiggy said the restaurant partners are part of its ecosystem and that the new service is representative of their business. It will create a local support system and enhance operational efficiency for partners to work with by investing in those local systems.
The initiative is in line with the larger trend of technology companies offering regional-language services to increase accessibility and inclusivity across India. As digital platforms penetrate Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, the need to provide support in local languages has become more important.
Enhancing the Overall Partner Experience
The multilingual helpdesk will make the whole helpdesk more accessible and efficient for restaurant owners to help them, and the company feels better about their customers. Businesses that can resolve issues quicker and communicate with the customer without the business having a better feel for what is going on in the business in a better and more effective way.
Swiggy not only has expanded its network of partners, but it will now also be helping restaurant entrepreneurs in South India. The company believes that the assistance in regional languages will make for a better work relationship between them and therefore a lot smoother business operations in the long run.
