Following the submission, Vice President Radhakrishnan appealed to citizens across the country to take part in the Special Intensive Revision exercise. He emphasised that an updated and error-free electoral roll forms the backbone of a healthy democratic process and encouraged all eligible voters to cooperate with election authorities by submitting their enumeration forms within the stipulated timeline.
The Special Intensive Revision is an exercise undertaken by the Election Commission to verify and update electoral rolls by adding eligible voters, correcting existing records and removing duplicate or ineligible entries. The process is aimed at ensuring that electoral rolls remain accurate ahead of future elections.
By personally participating in the revision process, the Vice President underscored the importance of citizen involvement in strengthening India's democratic institutions. His appeal serves as a reminder that every eligible voter has a role to play in maintaining the integrity and credibility of the electoral system.
Election authorities have also been encouraging citizens to complete the verification process and extend full cooperation to Booth Level Officers during the ongoing revision drive. The exercise is expected to improve the accuracy of electoral rolls and facilitate a smoother electoral process in the future.
The Vice President's participation in the Special Intensive Revision highlights the significance of voter registration and electoral roll verification, reinforcing the message that a robust democracy begins with an accurate and inclusive electoral roll.
