History has been made. Cape Verde have achieved what few thought was possible, qualifying for the FIFA World Cup knockout stage in their very first appearance on football's biggest stage.

Belgium made their mark on the tournament list with a 5-1 win against New Zealand.
The convincing win achieved Belgium’s top place in their group and they ended the group stage with five points and the best goal difference.
Egypt Also Through
Egypt also secured their place in the Round of 32 after a 0-0 draw against Iran.
The Pharaohs were level with Belgium on five points but finished second place because of a lower goal difference. Qualifying for the World Cup is yet another success for the African country.
