She had reached her boyfriend who contacted her and said she was going to do this. The young man, shocked and alarmed and unable to keep calm, dialed the emergency phone number 112 Emergency Service at that very time of crisis and asked for help. A patrol unit led by Head Constable Bangarappa was quickly dispatched from the site to a “Cheetah” police patrol vehicle.

Based on the address given by the caller, the cops reached the house in the vicinity of Techno School in Immadihalli. There, she tried to take her own life when the police arrived in a short span. Quickly, the police intervened and were able to stop her. Head Constable Bangarappa intervened, calmed the woman, and persuaded her to withdraw. To rescue her in time, officers did everything: they counseled her and brought her to safety.

The police would provide the necessary support later on, and officials would seek more help to assist with the emotional trauma. The police also appealed for the necessity to get help anytime, emphasizing the need for emergency services. They also expressed that when faced with a crisis, this incident underscores how emergency services and police agencies are very important to people and mental health. People who suffer emotional or personal challenges should talk with friends, family, or professional counselors, but not resort to drastic actions, the government said.
